Riverstones Office Interior

I work with children, adolescents, adults, families and occasional couples. Some of the many mental health issues I like to help people with are: ADHD, Bipolar, Mood Disorders, Bereavement, Learning Disabilities, including NonVerbal Learning Disorder and Language Based Learning Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Executive Functioning Deficits, anxiety, attachment and adoption issues, school adjustment issues, divorce, depression, dysthymia, obsessive compulsive disorder, parenting support and training and sleep difficulties. My office is designed to help people feel comfortable and relaxed, and my style is personable and friendly. I tend to stress positive personal regard for my clients, and my goal is to make my clients feel genuinely accepting of themselves.

Children's Art Therapy

I use an eclectic mix of modalities with my clients, depending on their needs and their belief systems. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is widely touted as being extremely effective. When working with children I translate these concepts into child-friendly visuals that helps them grasps the concepts easier. I also use Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy with children.

I use Psychodynamic techniques, Reality Therapy, Relaxation, Affirmation and Visualization Techniques, and Spiritual Counseling as well when indicated. Having worked in school systems for many years, I also provide support for parents with school testing, IEP meetings, and collateral with school personnel. I am a certified EMDR Therapist, as well as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

Having practiced in this area for so long, I have a vast network of providers and referral sources to help my clients find alternatives to medication when indicated. I do believe in medication when extremely necessary, but I prefer to use holistic and alternative healing methods before I suggest medication. As a Certified Polarity Therapist, I bring a knowledge of the mind-body connection to my clients when indicated.

I accept all insurances except MBHP (Mass Health) and Medicare. Copays are due at the time of each appointment. Certain insurances, such as Tufts and Tricare, will need preauthorization. This will need to happen before our first appointment. Missed appointment charges are $65, although I am very flexible if it is an extenuating circumstance.
